About the event

Community Dinners are an integral part of Nourish East End’s programming. On the fourth Monday of every month, Nourish East End opens its doors to the entire community and welcomes everyone to share and enjoy a hot meal together. Community Dinners are open to all, regardless of economic circumstances. There is no sign-up or registration required; guests are simply invited to come to 1470 Gerrard Street East. Vegetarian options are available. Please note that these dinners are intended for those joining to eat on-site, and no hot meals are available for take-out. A bagged meal with a sandwich, juice, cookies, and a drink is available for those unable to stay on-site for dinner.

Community Dinners were the first programs offered by Nourish East End, predating its food bank services. The team fondly remembers the days when these dinners were just a spark in someone’s mind, and now, many years later, Nourish East End continues…

East End Food Hub Logo

The East End Food Hub acknowledges and recognizes the land that we are on, which is the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is still home to many Indigenous Nations from across Turtle Island, including First Nations, the Inuit and the Métis. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. In considering this history, we also acknowledge the deep impact of colonization on Indigenous peoples and the role played by industrial agriculture and our modern food system. We're committed to listening and learning. And improving our Indigenous-focused programs and land initiatives. We stand united with Indigenous communities and other groups who experience marginalization
